DONALD Trump has dismissed Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation as “bulls***”.

The US President, 72, was speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland when he made the outburst.

Trump came on stage to the sound of Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the USA and hugged the Stars and Stripes before making his way to the podium.

In a two-hour speech, which was warmly received by the audience, he aimed his fire at his political opponents involved in the ongoing probe into his alleged dealings and involvement with Russia.

He accused those involved with the Mueller investigation as having “perhaps the worst reputation of any human being I have ever seen.”

Trump added: “Unfortunately you put the wrong people in a couple of positions and they leave people for a long time that shouldn’t be there and all of a sudden they’re trying to take you out with bulls***.

He also referred to the allegations as “the collusion delusion”.

Trump added: “So now we’re waiting for a report, and we’ll find out … who we’re dealing with.

“We’re waiting for a report by people that weren’t elected.”

He continued: “Robert Mueller never received a vote and neither did the person that appointed him.

“Robert Mueller put 13 of the angriest Democrats in the history of our country on the commission.”

In the speech he admitted he had gone “off script”.

His comments come as Mueller is preparing to file his report on supposed foreign interference in the 2016 presidential election with saw Trump enter the White House.

Trump said: “You know I’m totally off script right now and this is how I got elected, by being off script.

“And if we don’t go off script, our country’s in big trouble, folks, because we have to get it back.”

The Republican leader also turned his fire on some lawmakers in Congress who he said hated America.

Trump said: “Right now we have people in Congress that hate our country and you know that.

“And we can name every one of ’em if they want. They hate our country. Sad. It’s very sad. When I see some of the things being made, the statements being made, it’s very, very sad.”

He also appeared to turn his attention to foreign-born members of Congress.

Trump said: “Find out how did they do in their country? Just ask ’em, how did they do? Did they do well, were they succeeding? Just ask that question.

“Somebody would say, ‘Oh, that’s terrible that he brings that up.’ But that’s OK, I don’t mind, I’ll bring it up. How did they do in their country? Not so good, not so good.”

Why is Donald Trump being investigated?

He is investigating whether there was collusion between the Russian government, its agencies or affiliates, and the Trump presidential campaign in 2016.

It is already the established view of the United States that Russia intervened in the election through a massive overt online propaganda campaign and covert means to influence the election in favour of Donald Trump.

The aim of Muller’s investigation is to discover whether this effort was coordinated or aided by the Trump team.

In April 2018, Mueller told Trump’s lawyers that he was continuing to investigate the president but did not consider him a criminal target in the Russia probe “at this point,” the Washington Post reported.

It is not clear though exactly who Trump was referring to but speculation has highlighted Ilhan Omar, a Minnesota Rep who was a Somali refugee and Michigan Rep Rashida Tlaib, who is the daughter of a Palestinian immigrant.

Both recently signed a “Pledge to Impeach Trump”.

Trump’s ally Roger Stone, 66, recently branded Mueller’s investigation as a “speeding bullet” that was “coming for” the president’s head.
