A 39-year-old male was identified as Marcus Edward Milligan, the father of the Maryland family.

He was found deceased with a semi-automatic handgun near his body, according to the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office.

Marcus’ wife, Tara Devina Ricker Milligan, 37, and children Teresa, 14, Nora, 11, and Finn, 8 were identified through their autopsies, Delaware Online reported.

“It’s a horrific day, and I know everybody’s prayers are appreciated,” Sheriff Scott Adams said.

Police were called to the house on Friday morning due to a report from an anonymous man who said that a woman and three children had been shot dead.

It has not been announced whether it was Marcus who made the call from the home.

This was the first time authorities were sent to the home for anything, police say.

“My phone hasn’t stopped ringing from people concerned about this and upset about this,” Sheriff Adams said of the shootings.

The shooting took place in a cul-de-sac approximately 60 miles north of Baltimore.
