A WOMAN was left stunned when her cheap Christmas stocking filler turned out to be worth £25,000.
The 18-year-old from Germantown, Maryland did not expect a scratch-off lottery ticket she got for Christmas would change her life.
The woman scooped £25,000 with her first lottery ticket[/caption]The woman told Maryland Lottery officials she had never tried her luck on the lottery before winning the prize from a Peppermint Payout game.
The lucky scratch-off lottery ticket was one of the gifts her parents gave her.
Her dad said: “We gave them to her as a stocking stuffer.”
The woman said scratching off the $30,000 prize was a “shocking and weird feeling.”
“It was surreal,” she added.
She said she also won prizes of $1 and $2 from two other tickets in her stocking.
It comes as another lucky couple scooped £1.6million on the lottery and celebrated their huge win with a bucket of KFC.
Bruce Carter and Emiliana Kaftan kicked off 2023 with a bang after hitting the jackpot.
A lotto winner has scooped a nearly £13million jackpot– but he could have the name of the town where he bought his ticket to thank for his good fortune.
And a woman dubbed “the world’s luckiest” won two million dollar jackpots in the space of a month after sticking to the same tactic.
